Maitake Tincture Double Extraction

Maitake Mushroom, double extraction (water and alcohol)

To maximize the benefits of Maitake we use a double extraction. This involves first creating a decoction and extracting the water-soluble compounds (polysaccharides). After that, the mushrooms are tinctured in 190 proof Everclear for a minimum of 6 weeks to extract the ethanol-soluble compounds (which includes numerous constituents). 

This tincture will stay stable for an indefinite amount of time as long as it is protected from heat and excessive light.

USAGE: Maitake can be used in cosmetics and should be added during a heated phase (preferably a water phase) to allow the alcohol to flash off. The beneficial components will remain in your cosmetic. Recommended usage rate is 0.1-2%
