DIY Bath Crayon Base
DIY Bath Crayon Base
THIS IS A BASE: NOT A FINISHED PRODUCT
DIY Bath Crayons are fun and easy to make, but now they are even easier with this pre-made base! Simply melt a portion of the base, add mica and pour–we've got everything else covered!
This is the Bath Fizz and Foam DIY Bath Crayons Base, made with Palm Kernel Flakes. The standard recipe calls for Cocoa Butter, which has substantially increased in price since the recipe was created. We are open to offering Cocoa Butter base as well, but first we wanted to see what kind of demand there was for the base in general.
This base has a preservative in it which can tolerate high temperatures, so you don't need to add any additional preservative. To use the base, gently melt the portion you want to use in short bursts. When your base is fully liquid, you can add mica to create colors. We suggest using 1/8 tsp–approximately 0.5 grams–of mica for each crayon you plan to make. For best results, pour your crayon base into a silicone mold when the mix is between 140-130ºF
This portion make 10 bath crayons using the typical ladyfinger molds from Amazon, and is the same size batch as the standard BFF DIY Crayon batch from our ebook. Other molds might use more or less mix depending on their volume.
