Sodium Hydroxide is a key component in soap making. It is a reactant in the saponification process of turning fats and oils into soap and glycerin.

**Also known as Caustic Soda, this material is highly caustic with an pH of 13-14. Proper care and PPE must be used to prevent severe injury. To prevent splashing, ALWAYS pour Sodium Hydroxide into water, and NEVER pour water into Sodium Hydroxide.**
