Scandalous Soap and Cosmetic Supply
Sorbitol
Sorbitol
Sorbitol is a sweetener, so what’s it doing here with all these cosmetic ingredients? Well, it’s a key ingredient in the Bath Fizz and Foam Whipped Soap formulation!
While many sweeteners can act as humectants, and of course we always want our products to be moisturizing, that is not the only thing sorbitol is doing in our whipped soap! Its main function is to improve the texture of the whipped soap and prevent it from beading off of wet skin—a common problem I found with many free whipped soap recipes. And sorbitol is unique in its ability to do this!
Sorbitol is the first ingredient that we have intentionally bought in large quantity with the sole purpose being to create a reliable source for our Bath Fizz and Foam makers. We hope to be able to continue to do this so that our BFF’s have access to smaller quantities of ingredients that can be price prohibitive otherwise.
This ingredient is intended for external use only—it is not for consumption. Our sorbitol is sourced from wheat and/or corn.
